Our pastor explained a couple weeks ago what shepherds used the rod and staff for in Biblical times and it made so much sense! Just as the Lord is my shepherd and HIS rod and staff comfort and guide me, keeping me on the right path, I will be a gentle comforting guide to keep my children on the right path.
