The partnership, which was announced during the Hyundai press conference at CES 2026, is centered on robotics research that will use Google DeepMind’s AI foundation models. Boston Dynamics’ humanoid robot Atlas will be the first test case, according to Carolina Parada, senior director of robotics at Google DeepMind.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang also offered a counterintuitive prediction about how robots will affect human jobs.
Atlas, a humanoid robot made by robotics company Boston Dynamics, has been upgraded from a version 60 Minutes saw in 2021, with joints that can fully rotate and hands that can grip a variety of objects.
Humanoid robots were the stars of the show at CES 2026, with the physical AI tech showing off how it can fold laundry, deal cards, and more.
SwitchBot says the Onero is a general-use humanoid robot designed to eliminate housework that can complete “everyday actions such as grasping, pushing, opening, and organizing, while learning to adapt across different tasks and home scenarios.”
